Dorothy Peterson Tippetts died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on October 28, 1931 in Neola, Utah to Thurman James and Katie Dallas Levi Peterson. She was the oldest of four children. Dorothy graduated from Roosevelt High School. She attended L.D.S. Business College and later BYU.

She excelled in accounting and loved working with numbers. She served an L.D.S. mission to Canada where she met her future husband, Maynard. They were married on April 8, 1957 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple 54 years ago.

Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker and an amazing cook. She baked homemade bread and pies and was a seasoned candy maker. She served as the stake primary president and the ward relief society president. She also served in the Ogden Temple with her husband.

Dorothy loved her Heavenly Father and served to her full capacity. She was loved by all who knew her. She worked at Pepsi-Cola bottling for 31 years. She treasured her time there and her association with the Larsen family.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and we will miss her every day that she is not here with us.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Maynard S. Tippetts, her children, Todd Tippetts, Tonya Olsen, Troy (Tiffany) Tippetts, and Tina (Garth) Manning, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Richard Peterson, and sisters Ann Pickup, and Karen Petersen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three infant sons.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Crest Ward, 6350 Combe Road. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

The family would like to thank Dr. Glen Biddulph for the many years of loving care given to mom. Thanks to Tammy at Alpine Hospice.
