Dorsie Mae Probasco passed away at 89 years old at Rocky Mountain Nursing Home in Clearfield. She was born in Wendell Idaho and raised on a farm in Jerome Idaho. Her parents were Woodrow and Myrtle Wilson with two brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Jerome High School and continued her education attending a business college.
She married Avan William Probasco December 1955. Soon after they moved to Utah Avan received an apprenticeship at Hill AFB. They were later divorced.
Mom enjoyed drinking coffee with her friends and family at Davis Lanes café. She enjoyed making clay houses and giving them as gifts.
Mom held various positions through the years retiring from Davis Mental Health.
She always enjoyed family dinners and taking pictures. Dorsie enjoyed Christmas with family and always set up a Christmas Village every year.
She was proceeded in death by both parents, sister Bonnie Kersey, and brothers Wally Wilson, and Jesse Wilson, her daughter Peggy (Lyon) Probasco, and son Robert Probasco. She is survived by sister Mary Joe (Durfee)Wilson. son Kevin Probasco, Everett Probasco (Marena), 14 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild, son -in-law Dave Lyon, ex daughters in-law Luanne (McBride) Probasco, and Brenda (Chestnut) Dawson.
Thanks to Rocky Mountain and Hospice nursing for the outstanding care they provided to our mother.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
