Doug Ander passed away Thursday January 30, 2019 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden Utah after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a fall at his home on January 12th.

Douglas Robert Ander was born on June 16, 1959 to Daryl Ander and MaDonna Blanche Protz Ander and joined his brothers David & Dan in Caldwell, Idaho. After the death of his mother MaDonna, his father married Rebecca Andersen in 1962. The family of four became a family of nine and brought siblings Gretchen, Rodney, Sonja & Mary Lou. Doug being the youngest of the “Ander” Tribe. Doug was raised by parents, grandparents, and brothers and sisters and was loved by all beyond measure.

The family moved from Caldwell to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1965 where Doug attended elementary school and enjoyed baseball and riding bikes with all his friends and brothers and sisters and terrorizing the neighborhood as you can imagine!

The family moved from Twin Falls, Idaho to Roy, Utah in 1973 where Doug attended Sandridge Jr. High and Roy High, graduating in 1978. His passion was art and shop and he made many beautiful pieces of work for his family.

Doug married his high school sweetheart, LuAnne Stirling, in June of 1978. They made their home in the Roy community, building a home in West Haven and raising their family. Doug’s daughter’s Donna and Jamie and his wife LuAnne were his life. The close knit family bond remained even as the girls grew up, married and had children of their own. Becoming a grandfather to his four grandchildren Bryson, Breanna, Leah, and Alex brought such happiness to his heart.

Doug spent 35 years working at Jetway in Ogden, until his retirement in 2015.

Doug is survived by his wife LuAnne, daughters Donna (Ray) Rouse and Jamie (Mike) Marks, grandchildren Bryson & Breanna Johns and Leah and Alex Marks, along with his mother Becky Ander, brothers David (Diane) Ander, Dan (Kathy) Ander, Rodney (Kandee Jo) Anderson, and sisters Gretchen (Steve Isaacson) Gilbert, Sonja (Gary) Lyda and Mary Lou (Dave Andersen) Webb and sister in law Laura (Randy) Udy along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daryl Ander, mother MaDonna Protz Ander, sister in law Kay Doutre and brother in law Bobby Stirling Jr. along with his mother in law Cherie Stirling and father in law Bob Stirling and all of his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday February 4, 2019 at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. The family will meet with friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family asks in lieu of sending flowers you donate in his name to a charity helping the homeless.
