Douglas Edward Barnes

Douglas Edward Barnes, 53, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born November 14, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Samuel Edward and Florence Ladelle Barnes.

On December 5, 1987, Douglas married his sweetheart, Rebecca Layton, in Elko, Nevada.

Douglas served in the United States Air Force.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting with family and friends. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church and a member of the N.R.A. He also was a Civil War enthusiast.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca, two sons and one daughter, Jeramy (Shannon) Barnes, Lindruth, NM; Christian Barnes, Roy; Destany Barnes, Boise, ID; and five grandchildren.

Also surviving is his mother, Florence Barnes, Richmond, KY; and three sisters, Sandra (Brian) Hotchkiss, Connie (Thomas) Masters, Patsy (Jeff) McLean, all of Lexington, KY.

Preceding Douglas in death are his father and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Aultorest Cemetery.
