Douglas Ray Hartmann, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 18, 2012 from an illness. He was born on May 8, 1950 to Darwin E. and Natalie Cox Hartmann. Douglas grew up in Uintah and graduated from Bonneville High School. He stayed in Uintah until he entered the Marine Corp at the age of 19 where he served in Vietnam. It was his life''s accomplishment.

He met and married Jan Puckett. Together they had Benjamin. They later divorced. Douglas married Debbie Hales. Together they had Rebekah. Debbie preceded him in death in 1982. He married Sonya Peterson. Together they had Clint and Sierra. They later divorced.

Douglas lived in Eden for 29 years. He was perhaps most well known for his farm in Eden. In 2006, he moved to Ogden and resided there until his death. He was an unbelievable metal artist. Douglas'' work ethic was incredibly strong and he will be missed. He was always willing to help a friend in need.

He was an aircraft welder for 42 years and 2 months at Hill Air Force Base where he made several lifelong friendships.

Douglas is survived by fiance, Dawn Brown, sons, Benjamin Beard Hartmann, Bozeman, MT and Clint Douglas Hartmann, Huntsville, UT; daughters, Rebekah H. (Christian) Scaduto, Dallas-Fortworth, TX, and Sierra Sonya Hartmann, North Ogden, UT ; grandson, Hunter Thomas Hartmann; brother, Gordon (Deb) Hartmann, Ogden, UT and sister, Claire (Richard) Nye, Ogden, UT.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie H. Hartmann, parents and brothers, Michael and David Hartmann.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
