Douglas Vernon Jacobsen

Douglas Vernon Jacobsen, 77, passed away at his home in Clearfield, Utah on October 25, 2017.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 11, 1939 to Vernon Thomas and Leah Taylor Jacobsen.  He was raised in Bountiful, Utah attending Stoker Elementary, So. Davis Jr. High and Bountiful High School.

Douglas served in the United States Air Force four years.  He was employed at Crestwood Furniture working with his father Vernon, after his service in the Air Force.  He then went to work as an aircraft mechanic at Hill Air Force Base and was also in the Air Force Reserves for 28 years.

He was married to Diane Houston on October 12, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah and later divorced.  He later married Shirley Ann Koon on August 1, 1983 in Farmington, Utah married 34 years.  Douglas loved his ‘78 Ford truck and had it for many years.  He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, loved “nap-time”, his cat, Kitty, his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Leah, two sisters Sherry and Shawna.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley, sons; Jody (Amanda) Jacobsen, Bountiful, Utah, Matthew Jacobsen, Woods Cross, Utah, Stepchildren; Cindy (Bob) Bourque, West Point, Daniel (Margie) Koon, Layton, Mark (Sherry) Koon, Centerville , Darla Stott (Bill Stickney), Layton, 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
