Our loving husband, father, and grandpa, Douglas P. Millard, 80, passed from this world to the next of heart failure on February 2, 2024, at his home with his family close by. He was born February 22, 1943, in Ogden, Utah, a son of Henry M. and Annie Powers Millard. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1961. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State College.
He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.
Doug married his sweetheart, Shauna Andersen, on August 24, 1967, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They just celebrated 56 years of marriage. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are sources of great pride.
He was a jack-of-all trades and could build and/or repair almost anything. He loved helping neighbors and friends with their projects. He loved dogs, cars, airplanes, guns, hunting, Bigfoot, and Porter Rockwell. He loved talking politics to anyone who would listen.
Doug had 41 years of government employment. He retired from Hill Air Force Base as an Avionics Engineer. He enjoyed traveling around the world for his job and with his wife on various tours and cruises.
He loved his family fiercely. Doug is survived by his wife, Shauna Andersen Millard; children, Wendy Phillips, Andrea (Rodger) Corbridge, and Rhett Millard; eight grandchildren, Tyler and Braden (Nicole) Eichmeier and Karlie (Tate) Bunderson, Carrie and Quinn Phillips, Easton, Gage, and Stockton Millard; two great-grandchildren, Theodon Eichmeier and Lindsey Bunderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild, Chase Bunderson.
