Douglas T. Nelson
OKLEY/NORTH OGDEN, Utah a" Douglas T. Nelson, 52, had been missing since Sunday, August 20, 2009. He was recovered on June 20, 2010 after 10 long months.
Douglas came into the world on October 2, 1957, born in Brigham City, Utah to Clifford O. and Klea T. Nelson. Doug was the second son of four children. He was raised in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School. He completed his journeyman in construction at Weber''s A.T.C. Doug had a lifelong career in the commercial construction industry, working for many years with Big D, Jacobsen, and Wadman Corp. Doug had tremendous talent and knowledge for working with his hands, from woodworking, to building commercial buildings, such as the new McKay-Dee Hospital, Weber County Jail, buildings on B.Y.U. and U of U campus''s, Gateway Plaza, and various buildings throughout the states. Doug loved woodworking, hiking, camping, and gun collecting. Doug had a great love for all animals. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving are two sons, Benjamin (Kristy) Nelson and Ryan (Tawnya) Nelson, two daughters, Ashley Elise (Nelson) Parker, Brooke LeAnn Nelson; and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Rick Nelson, and Julie Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cifford O. Nelson, and one brother, Jeffery Lynn Nelson.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family quests donations be made to America First Credit Union to help offset funeral expenses.
