Douglas Charles Piazza

Douglas Charles Nicholas Piazza

Douglas, 50, passed from this earth on Thursday, September 15, 2011. While the heavens may be glad to have his amazing spirit amongst them, the people here on earth are mourning the loss of such a wonderful man.

Doug was born on April 16, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York to Eleanor and Charles Piazza. He is survived by his wife Elsie; children Angel and Sylvia; daughter in-law Annalee; grandchildren Odessa, Trinity, Scarlet, and Cruz; father Charles; siblings and spouses Georgeanna and Walter, Charles and Fran, and Patrick. His mother preceded him in death.

Doug spent much of his childhood working in the family business with his father and uncles learning the plumber''s trade and subsequently, their language. He loved working with his hands and that early experience shaped much of his future as a neighborhood handyman. Doug was someone you could call on when your heater quit working.

Corvettes and Shaggin Wagons defined Doug''s early adulthood. He was partially deaf in his right ear. We think it was caused by playing his music so loud! He loved Led Zepplin as much as he loved James Brown and if you turned on the right record you were likely to see him break dance.

He was 25 when he met his wife Elsie and the love bug immediately punctured his heart. Elsie was his "Classy Chassis" and no tulip loved the sun more than Doug loved Elsie, to his dying hour. The children she bore and the grandchildren thereafter, clung to him from the start and were privileged to have such a remarkable example of a generous, hardworking, and humble man.

We miss you Doug!
