Dr. Jack Richard Lane passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2011. He was born on June 27, 1924 to Benjamin F. and Maryan Gaisford Lane in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised and educated in Salt Lake City and Ogden. After graduating from Ogden High School, he attended Weber College and went on to graduate from the Lincoln College of Chiropractic, Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Stake Missionary and as a Seventy. He was always with the scouts whether it was hiking, kayaking, or helping his boys have a great time.

Jack was the Block Captain with Civil Defense during the Cold War. He served his country in the Army during World War II.

He met the love of his life Colleen Carney at Central Junior High School where their friendship developed until they were married on August 22, 1945. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. Jack and Colleen settled in Ogden where he opened his own Chiropractic Office and practiced for over 40 years. Jack loved his patients. He had a genuine interest in their lives. He was a true healer. He was a President of the Utah Chiropractic Association, served on the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and was a member of the American Chiropractic Association.

Jack and Colleen were blessed with seven beautiful children. He loved spending time with his family. Jack enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He especially enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Star Valley, Wyoming.

He is survived by his sons, Dr. David (Carolyn), North Ogden; Dr. Michael (Barbara), Salt Lake City; John (Kim), Tooele; and Robert (Marra), Pleasant View; daughters, Nancy (Scott) Waterfall, Ogden; and Cindy (Bart) Christensen, North Ogden; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; and a brother-in-law, Wallace Dale Green.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kathy; a brother, David; and a sister, Betty Louise Green.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Kingston LDS Ward, 1425 Kingston Drive, Ogden. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
