Perry was putting on the 9th hole at Valley View Golf Course and having the game of his life when he suffered a sudden heart attack. He returned to his Father in Heaven while playing the game that he loved and the way most golfers would want to go.

A Utah native and Eagle Scout, Perry was a graduate of The Davis High School Class of 59''. He was looking forward to his 50th High School Reunion this summer.

He served an Alaskan/Canadian L.D.S. Mission and brought back tall tales of "pet" grizzly bears, monstrous halibut and Jeep-trashing moose that would entertain us for hours. Perry was an active and dedicated member of the Bishopric of the Woods Cross 8th Ward.

Perry graduated from Weber State University and then moved to the Windy City to attend Northwestern University where he received his Doctorate of Dental Science. So began his lifelong passion for dentistry that became an integral part of his adult life.

He moved out west to Southern California and practiced dentistry for 25 years before returning to Utah in 2000 and continuing to practice at local dental facilities.

Eccentrically brilliant, musically talented and living completely in the moment, Perry was larger than life. He threw himself into anything and everything that sparked his interest; music, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, world history and golf. He will be dearly missed.

Preceded in death by his parents Melvin Joseph Fifield and Olive Hall Fifield, he is survived by his three children: April Fifield (Newport Beach, CA), Beth Champion (Portland, OR) and Ryan Fifield (Westpoint, UT). He is also missed by his brothers, sisters and their spouses: Ted and Brenda Fifield (St. George, UT), Kirk and Helen Westlund (West Bountiful, UT), Cheryl and DeeEll Fifield (Fruit Heights, UT) and Ron and Retta Jaques (Clearfield, UT) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a Charitable Memorial Account has been set up for his son''s college education. Please contact America First Credit Union at 800-999-3961 and mention Ryan Fifield.
