Dr. Ricky Ray Kent

Dr. Ricky Ray Kent loving husband, father and papa, returned home on September 1, 2013. He belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he knew that our Savior lives. He knew that we have a kind Father in Heaven who loves and watches over each of us.

He lived a life of service. He was blessed to serve in many church callings. He was a high counselor, served two times as Bishop and served in a stake presidency. Rick was a gentle teacher, teaching by love, inspiration and example.

Rick received his baccalaureate from Weber State, his master''s degree and PhD from Brigham Young University. He was so pleased to have the honor of teaching seminary and institute for the LDS church.

He passed away surrounded by family. In his life his "daily delight" and joy was always his family.

Rick is survived by his wife Pamela Ivie, who adores him, to whom he was sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. Also, his beautiful children Andrea and Daniel Wood, Cypress, CA; Dr. Michael and Ashley Kent, Commerce Twp, MI; Kara and Jacob Hall, Plain City, UT; He was papa to 8 delightful grandchildren, Caleb, Tayah, Jackson, Lincoln, Payten, Shelby, Katie and Kinsey Ray. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Heninger and Peggy Dorigetti and Pam''s siblings who he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant Kent and Lorain Myler; sister, Carol DeGroot; and brother, Keith Kent.

His life was full of many friends to whom we are so grateful.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 8th Ward, 720 Nancy, South Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
