Duane Alexander Jensen passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
He was born July 22, 1917 in Salt Lake City Utah to Christian Jensen and Lucy Robison.
Duane married Adele McFarlane on October 28, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Dad was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions of responsibility during his life. For twenty years he served as Executive Secretary to many General Authorities of the Church. He truly exemplified Christ-like love. Dad was the best example to his family, and taught the principles of love, unselfishness, integrity, and service in every way.
Dad was successful in his chosen profession, retiring as Chief of Operational Research for the U.S. Army Materiel Command. He was an accomplished teacher, serving as a guest lecturer at the Army Logistics Management Center for many years. He loved the scriptures, and studied them every day.
After 65 years of marriage, he was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Adele, in 2005, and longed to be reunited with her. He was the last living member of his family, being preceded by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
He is survived by a son, Duane Chris (Karla), grandchildren, Lisa Allen (Cameron), Matthew Jensen, Amy Thornock (Corey), and Andrew Jensen (Jennifer). Also survived by twelve great-grandchildren: Joshua, Camille Adele, and Samantha Allen; Jaiden, Sienna, Sage, and Gunnar Thornock; Alex, Nichole, and Melanie Jensen; Max and Oscar Jensen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
A viewing will be held Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and friends and family may visit Tuesday prior to the services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at the mortuary.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
