Duane Arthur Jones

Duane Arthur Jones, 92, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025, of causes related to age.

He was born on November 2, 1932, in Payson Utah to William Arthur Jones and Bernice Cornelia Hyde, he was raised in the area and learned to work from an early age. After graduation from Payson high school, he served a mission to the Central States and upon return attended BYU obtaining a degree in Agronomy. He worked at Del Monte Corp. for many years but eventually, his passion turned to Real Estate where he worked as a Realtor, Broker, GRI for 40+ years.

He married LuAnn James of Spanish Fork on May 3, 1956, in the Manti Temple, they had four children and lived in the Roy and South Ogden areas until LuAnn’s death in 1991. In 1996 he married Jackie Browning for time in the Ogden temple, they made their home in Roy for the past 28 years.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in all auxiliaries including Bishopric, Stake Presidency and as a Sr. Missionary.

He enjoyed hunting and camping but loved fishing where he created lasting memories with family and friends. He was a passionate gardener, restored antiques, served faithfully in church callings and most of all enjoyed gatherings with the family. 

Duane was predeceased by his parents, brothers Jack and Ernest Jones and his eternal companion LuAnn James. He is survived by his children; David, Michael and Jeffery Jones, Cheryl Ross, his spouse Jackie and her children, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11am at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. Roy Utah. The family will meet with friends on Thursday, January 23rd from 6-8pm and Friday 24th 9:30-10:30 am, at the mortuary. 

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
