Duane LeRoy Morriss left the world peacefully on September 9, 2024, in Ogden, Utah.
He was born November 4, 1933, to Clarence LeRoy and Melba Georgina Roylance Morriss.
He married Faye Saunders on October 10, 1956, and together they had seven children. They were married for 50 years before her passing in December of 2006.
He worked for Sears as a service technician for 28 years. He could fix anything and often helped out many friends and neighbors. He lived in Ogden for his entire life.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions including Bishop and Stake President of the Mound Fort Stake.
After Faye’s death he married Nola Dalton on May 9, 2009. She died in December 2010.
Duane is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters; Alan (Fran) Morriss, Brent Morriss, Steven Morriss, Angela (Ken) Olsen, Cheryl Morriss, and Julie (Scott) Roberts; one sister, Betty McMurdie; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, David, two sisters and one grandson, Michael.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.
