Duane Poll

Duane William Poll, 74, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 surrounded by his family. Duane was born February 6, 1940 to William Lester and Sylvia Lavern (Jaques) Poll. He graduated from Davis High School where he excelled in baseball and football. He also served an LDS mission to New Zealand.

On July 5, 1962 he married Judith Rose Snelling in Vancouver, BC. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on July 19, 1962. He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked on the Minuteman Missile.

Dad loved horses and was the Junior Posse leader for many years. He also loved to hunt, fish, camp, and spent many years cutting firewood in the Uinta’s with his boys.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Darren Duane, brothers Dale, Verl and Glen, and his sister, Lola Brake. He is survived by his wife Judith, daughter Lisa (Mark) Carter; sons Chris (Jenette), Jason (Jeni), and Jared Poll, all of South Weber. He had ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Donna Poll, Beverly (Paul) Warner, Louise Cash, Marie (Owen) Cash, and Carolyn (Dick) Child.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment, Uintah City Cemetery.
