Lawrence Duane Swallow, 74, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Layton IHC after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children. In his final hours, he expressed his readiness to embark on his next journey.

Born in Brawley, CA, to Lawrence and Geri Swallow, Duane’s family moved to Utah as a child. They resided in Layton, where Duane attended Davis High School. They later moved to Clinton. After graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Duane began his career at Hill Air Force Base, where he worked for over 34 years in various roles, including his final position as a Minuteman Missile Mechanic.

Duane married his sweetheart, Lillian Rauzi, on May 10,1980 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They built their first home in West Point, where they raised their family and formed lifelong friendships. Together, they shared a love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and camping. Duane’s happiest moments were spent creating lasting memories around the campfire, surrounded by the beauty of nature with family and friends. His deep appreciation for the peace found in the wilderness remained a cornerstone of his life.

His sense of adventure continued as he rediscovered his passion for motorcycles. For the last 20+ years, Duane rode his motorcycle, capturing unforgettable milestones and friendships along the way. Clocking over 100,000 miles in just a few short years, the open road became a sanctuary - a place where he felt truly free and alive. Each journey was not just a ride, but an experience. He loved sharing these moments with his sweetheart by his side.

Duane is survived by his wife, Lillian, and their children, Rayne Swallow (Dawn), David Fresques (Stefanie), Stephanie Church (Tyler) and Carrie Anne Stanger (Shawn). He was also blessed with 11 beautiful grandchildren, each of whom he loved deeply. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Johnny Rauzi (Lise) and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
