Durlin “Dick” Milton Clow
July 27, 1941 ~ February 14, 2022
Our devoted and loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, passed away due to complications from Covid. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Dick was a proud graduate of Ogden High Class of 1959. He joined the U.S. Navy that same year. He proudly served his country. He fell in love, and married Irene Cottle in 1963. They started their married life in Southern California where he worked for Pacific Bell. He then transferred to Mountain Bell and moved to our apple orchard home in North Ogden. He would later retire, as a Regional Manager, from AT&T. After retiring, he enjoyed working at HAFB for Winward Electric and Data-Monitoring Systems.
He and his sweetheart, Irene, raised two semi-literate, non-creative obituary authors. (Who inherited his sarcasm and wit).
Dad was an amazing example of service, kindness, and empathy. He literally and figuratively gave the shirt off his back many times. His desire to serve others resulted in joining the Northview Fire Department. He responded to emergency calls for 17 years, 5 of which he was Assistant Chief.
Dick loved the outdoors. Golfing, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, riding, shooting and softball. He had great respect for nature, including flowers, animals, birds and the night sky.
You could always count on seeing the American Flag flying proudly over his property, even his motor home. Proper decorum and respect of the flag, our National Anthem, service men and women and trusted leaders was always shown.
Durlin is survived by best friend, and wife, Irene Cottle Clow; daughter, Evette Clow (Scott) Stubbs, son, Vincent C. (Lori) Clow; six grandchildren, and five plus great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Flinders, Karen Stoffers, Kathy Pettingill, and Pat Nicholls and brother, Bennett Clow.
