Ogden, UT – Dwayne Lee Watkins, Jr. “Bert”, 58, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., with family and loved ones by his side.
He was born on June 16, 1958 in Logan, UT, son of Dwayne Lee Watkins Sr., and Nedra Sue Williamson Watkins. After graduating from Weber High School in 1976, he married Patricia Ann Tremblay on May 18, 1979; later divorced. Together they had a daughter, Trisha Lee Watkins.
He enjoyed everything about the outdoors, fishing, camping, four-wheeling or even just sitting peacefully in nature. However, his greatest passion was prospecting for precious stones, crystals, and geodes. He also had a passion for lapidary work, and creating beautiful jewelry that he shared with friends and family. He had many advance placement art classes throughout school, and had a creative imagination. He could draw and paint anything. He chose masonry as his career, as he loved designing and building with his hands, he was no stranger to hard work. He had a special connection with all animals, and was always compelled to assist those in need.
He was a loving, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He will be extremely missed.
Bert is survived by his father, Dwayne Lee Watkins Sr.; daughter, Trisha Lee Watkins; son-in-law, Jeremy Moreland; grandson, Jayden Moreland; and his brothers, Guy Watkins, and Cort Watkins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Wellsville City Cemetery, 400 North 200 East, Wellsville UT 84339.
