Dwight George Brown 1953-2012

Dwight George Brown, 59, passed away on August 6, 2012 from complications following surgery for pancreatic cancer.

He was born January 10, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Norma Rae and H. Jess Brown. Dwight grew up in Salt Lake City, Logan and Bountiful where he graduated from Bountiful High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Janet Midgley, on June 1, 1973 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Dwight earned Bachelor and Masters degrees from Utah State University and a doctorate in Education from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He loved teaching and was a great influence on his many students at Millcreek Jr. High, Mueller Park Jr. High, Bountiful High School and the University of Utah.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many callings, the library being his favorite.

Dwight loved road trips, hunting, riding his 4-wheelers and spending time with his beloved family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; son Morgan; daughters Amanda (Rik) and Megan; grandchildren, Mia, Abby, Marshall, Colin and Gabe; brother Jan.

Dwight''s family would like to thank the staff at Huntsman Cancer Hospital, U of U SICU and South Davis Community Hospital for their loving care.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Bountiful 16th Ward Chapel, 720 E. 550 N. Friends may visit family on Fri. Aug. 10th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Sat. 10:45-11:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, Bountiful.
