Dwight H. Petty

LAYTON - Dwight H. Petty, 92, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Dwight was born May 30, 1925 in Clifton Springs, New York, son of Ralph William Petty and Clara Margret Murray Petty.

He served in WWII and the Korean War in the US Army from 1943-1953 and graduated from the University of Denver in 1949.

He was married to Barbara Ruth Rabenstein in October 1951. They were later sealed in the LDS Temple in 1962.  She preceded him in death in 2009, after 58 years of marriage.

Surviving are his children, Allen (Tammy) Petty, Julie (Steve) Moore, Shawn (Nicole) Petty, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Margaret “Maggie” Ellen Petty, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph William Petty Jr., sister, Dora May Petty and grandson, Casey Shawn Petty.

Graveside services will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton.
