E. Duane Ozmun HARRISVILLE – E. Duane Ozmun, 72, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital. He was born December 11, 1934 in Ogden, a son of Elton and Velma Ozmun. Duane married Beverly Coleman on September 29, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 51 years. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He served as student body president at Washington Jr. High and graduated from Ogden High School in 1953. He attended Weber College where he was freshman class president. He played football, basketball and was a very good baseball player. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf and was a Jazz fan. Duane started and ran Kozco Mechanical, retiring in 2000. He served as president of the State Mechanical Contractors Association and served on the State Contractor Licensing Board. He also worked for two summers for the U.S. Forest Service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings including the Stake High Council. He was currently serving in the High Priest Group Leadership and also as a Host at the Joseph Smith Building with his wife until his illness. Duane loved his family dearly. He loved people and everyone loved him. He had many friends. Surviving are his wife Beverly of Harrisville; six children, Leslie Arnold, Roy; Paul (Michele) Ozmun, Salt Lake City; Chris (Christine) Ozmun, Providence; Lori (Dan) Plater, Provo; Jennifer (Ryan) Holtry, Pleasant View; Andrew (Emily) Ozmun, Ogden; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, LuJean (John) Bouwhuis, LaVoie (Ivan) Quist, Huntsville; Sherral (Steve) Thurgood, Hooper. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family expresses special thanks to Drs. Harold Johnson and Justin Mansfield, their staffs, and the staff and nurses at McKay-Dee Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 11th Ward Chapel, 480 West 2000 North. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
