Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Earl Dean Bassett, 83, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was born on April 8, 1929 to Ammon Fransillo and Lucile Tippits Bassett in Osmond, Wyoming.

Earl served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He attended airplane and engine mechanic school at Sheppard Air Force Base for 22 weeks.

He married Donna Mae Cole on September 25, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. They later divorced. He married Geraldine Reynolds on June 15, 1956 in Ogden, Utah. They were later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 15, 1974.

Earl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he loved serving as the Cub Scoutmaster.

He loved fishing, hunting, coaching Little League Baseball and watching sports.

Earl is survived by his wife, Geraldine; sons, David Earl Bassett, Glen Jeffrey Bassett and Willis Dean Bassett all of Ogden; daughters, Vada Bassett, Layton; Deborah Lynne Imlay, Clinton; Lona Joy Barnes, Olympia, WA; and Vione Bassett, Ogden; 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, Nevin Ammon, Sunset; Weldon Jay, Montpelier, ID; and Melvin Eugene and Ronald Zan of Afton, WY; and sisters, Nellie Bernice, Boise, ID; LaRae, Phoenix, AZ and Mary Jean, Logan, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, daughters, Ellen Mae Wendell and Sherol Ann Bassett; brothers, Alan Reed, Clarence Lee and Harlo Fransillo; and sister, Theda Lucile.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
