Earl Dean Byington

Dean Byington, a beloved member of the community, passed away on May 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. Born on November 15, 1942, in Ogden, UT, Earl touched the lives of many through his illustrious and his unwavering commitment to his family and faith.
 
Throughout his 44 years at Hill Field AFB, and after retirement, he worked at Cliffs Car Wash by Triple Stop, as a Dallas Greens Wholesale delivery driver, and in lawn care alongside his brother Kenny, Dean displayed a strong work ethic and passion for his various roles. His impact extended beyond the workplace as he worked in the nursery and taught young minds in primary for many years. Dean’s involvement as a Scout Master was particularly cherished; he found joy in scouting activities and camping with his boys. His devotion to the church was evident through his roles in the Elders Quorum and Sunday School.
 
Dean's educational journey included graduating from Weber High School and attending Weber State University for instrument repair. His service in the Army during the Vietnam era until his honorary discharge in January of 1969 at Fort Lewis Washington showcased his patriotism and bravery.
 
In his leisure time, Dean indulged in hobbies such as fishing, hunting, scouting, camping, and gardening - where his green thumb shone brightly. A member of the Great Basin Antique Machinery Club, he reveled in the nostalgia of old tractors.
 
Dean is preceded in death by his loving wife Linda, daughter Deonna, son Brent, daughter-in-law Pam, grandson Eric Bird, brother Kenny, sister Connie Murphy, brother-in-law John Murphy, brother-in-law Ken Becraft, brother-in-law Greg Ford, brother-in-law Larry Jensen...and numerous other relatives.
 
He is survived by sons Bryan Chad Byington from Hooper UT; Darin Brad Byington from Clinton UT; Adam Blair Byington from West Haven UT; daughters Brenda Bird from Morgan UT; Becky Byington from Clearfield UT. Additionally survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother Leon Byington; sisters Marge Becraft from Roy UT; Sharon Ford from Roy UT; Delma Woodruff from Roy UT; Elaine Byington from Hooper UT; Jane Marguardt from Star Valley WY; Jean Spendlove from Roy UT.


Dean Byington's life was a testament to hard work, faithfulness to family and community. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for all those around him. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
 
Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Homestead Ward, 5375 South 5900 West, Hooper UT. Friends may visit with family on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Syracuse Mortuary. 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse UT. Also, on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church. Interment Hooper City Cemetery.
