Earl Chambers

September 12, 1932 ~ April 3, 2014

Earl hung up his hat and pulled off his boots for the last time on Thursday, April 3, 2014 after a hard fight with cancer, with his loving wife and family at his side.

He was born on September 12, 1932 to Parley Burton and Ellen Alean Orton Chambers in Eden, Utah.

Earl leaves behind his loving wife, Devon Jane Richards Chambers who he was sealed to in the Logan LDS Temple in 1964; four children, LuAnn (Larry) Foxley, Rock Springs, WY; Ronnie (Rose), Liberty; Kevin, Huntsville; and Gregg (Natalie), Eden; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with two more arriving soon; and sister, June Barker, West Haven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters, and his in-laws.

Dad loved having his family close and always at the house.  He always believed “Families were forever.” He loved his work, camping, family trips, and hunting at the property on Monte.

As a young man, Earl learned to operate heavy equipment.  He later started his own company – Chambers and Sons Construction.  He was instrumental in so many projects near and dear to the valley and state.  His first job as a young man was working on Pineview Dam and cutting the roads to Powder Mountain, North Ogden Divide, Powder Mountain Ski Resort, Nordic Valley Ski Resort, some runs at Snowbasin, Wolf Creek Golf, White Barn Golf, Sherwood Hills, and too many others to mention.

A very honorable and well respected man for his hard work ethics, we know that he is up above with a smile on his face building roads in Heaven.

Earl’s legacy will always be one of love for his family.  It will continue on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

“Till we meet again.”

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Nordic Valley Ward, 2900 North Hwy 162, Eden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Meadow View Cemetery, Eden.
