Earl 'J' Hall

Earl ‘J’ Hall, 82, born May 8, 1927 in Garland, Utah to Archibald Sanford and Fanny Evans Hall, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at home with his family, of Lewy Body Dementia. He grew up in Box Elder County surrounded by a large family. He was the youngest of nine children. Earl was a faithful member of the LDS Church. He loved the Lord and always had a strong testimony. He served faithfully in many callings, two stake missions and as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. Earl served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After returning from the war he met and married Bonnie M. Haws on January 7, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a long haul truck driver and saw most of the Country. He never met a stranger and his C.B. call sign was “Gabby”. He loved his job. He was a hard worker and could fix anything. He loved to sing and in his earlier years, dance. Earl is the loving father to six children who survive him, Kristine (Thomas) Willis, Sherrie (Wayne) Green, Cindy (Dennis) Miller, Lisea (Tracy) Allen, Rodney Hall, Chad (Alicyn) Hall. He is also survived by his wife, Bonnie; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Leone (William) Butler, Marie (Dick) Rhodes, Mark (Deon) Hall, Pheobe (Radcliff) Henrie, Arch (Tobe) (Helen) Hall, Fanny (John) Fridal, Fay ( Melvin) Murphy, Alice (Paul) Cass and two grandchildren, Becky Palmer and Nathan Miller. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16th at 11a.m. at the North Ogden 20th Ward Chapel, 575 East 3100 North. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
