Earl C. Jackson
1931-2014
Earl C. Jackson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born January 5, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Leslie Earl and Sarah Leona Mortenson Jackson. He married the absolute love of his life, Irene Makowecki, August 4, 1972 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were meant for each other.
Earl was raised in California by his cousin True and her husband, Floyd McEwen. He had a wonderful friendship and shared his life with the family of Myrlene and Dan Rogers. Earl worked in Hawaii as a hairstylist and loved the islands. He returned to the mainland and Utah retiring from Ft. Douglas. He enjoyed working with his Lindquist’s Mortuary family for fourteen years where he was loved by everyone.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he loved music and served as choir director, and an organist in the Bountiful Temple, and served where ever he was called.
Family, friends and neighbors were always welcome in Earl and Irene’s home, where they were always entertaining. Earl loved decorating their home for Christmas. He traveled to all 50 states and enjoyed cruising.
Earl is survived by his wife Irene; brothers and sisters; Arthur ‘Kirby’ Jackson, Betty Patterson (Jack), Leona Cowley, Eva Watson, Jerry Jackson, Richard Jackson (Holly), Derald McEwen (Dayle), Dara Kaney (Jim), sister-in-law Melba Jackson; special friends/family Michelle (Jeff), Ashley, Jason and Hailey; Micall (Casey) and Payton; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; True and Floyd McEwen; brothers Vern, Clarence, Tom, Don and sister Shirley Prince.
We would like to thank all who have helped Earl on his journey with so much concern and love.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful, Utah. Friends may visit family, Fri. Dec. 5 th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and from 9:30-10:30 am at the Church prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
