CLINTON a€" Our father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Earl Cordell Johns, 70, returned to his Father in Heaven on Wednesday, April 21, 2010.

He was born June 2, 1939 in Smoot, Wyoming and graduated from Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyoming. He married Lila K. Gomm on August 21, 1959 and had two children. They were later divorced. He later married Betty J. Moulton and divorced.

Our father was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Earl was a carpenter and had great love to build and work with his hands. He retired from Amoco Oil in Evanston, Wyoming where he had many friends. Upon retirement, he spent his time managing and running his own apartments.

Surviving are his son, Rodney Cordell (Christine) Johns, Clearfield; daughter, Tresa (Scott) Welty, Layton; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Roland Johns, Cokeville, WY; Dale Johns, Sun City, AZ; two sisters, Genevieve, Mesa, AZ; and Thea, Roy.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers UDell, Jack, Ivan and sisters, Gayle and Beulah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Layton 4th Ward, 1480 W. Phillips. Friends and family will call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Afton, Wyoming Cemetery.
