David Earl Turner

David Earl Turner passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at his home in Palm Desert, California. “Earl” was born on September 2, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David O. and Vina S. Turner. He spent his childhood in Ogden, Utah.
Earl was proud to have served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
On September 18, 1948, he married Mary Beth Humphreys of Ogden. Together they raised five children. Mary passed away on December 1, 2001
Earl had a deep love of the outdoors and spent much of his spare time fishing and camping. He especially loved the Flaming Gorge and Star Valley areas where he spent many happy days with family and friends. Earl also resided at the Park Palms Condominiums in Palm Desert, California for more than 30 years where he leaves behind many friends.
Earl was a skilled carpenter and was willing to help anyone with a project. He spent most of his career in construction and development.
Earl is survived by his sons, Curtis (Karen), John, and Doug; and daughter, Margo (Rick) Campbell, and is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; daughter, Dianne Haun; and grandson, Rodney Haun.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
