Earlene Hooten Myers

May 9, 1949 — October 14, 2024

Earlene Hooten Myers, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at the age of 75, after a brief but serious illness, with her loved ones by her side.

She was born on May 9, 1949, in Ogden, Utah, to Earl and Charlene Hooten. She dedicated much of her life to serving her country through civil service, beginning her career with the IRS, later working with the U.S. Air Force, and eventually retiring from the Air National Guard Civil Service.

Earlene is survived by her daughter, April Jaeger, and April’s husband, Jason Jaeger. Earlene was a proud grandmother to Aidan (and his wife, Bekah), Gannon, Jett, and Scarlett. Her family brought her immense joy, and she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Earlene is also survived by her beloved sister, Lola Palmer, wife of the late Wayne Palmer; along with four nieces, a nephew, their spouses, and 24 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she treasured deeply.

For over 40 years, Earlene called Mesa, Arizona, her home, where she built many wonderful friendships and meaningful connections with those around her. She often expressed great gratitude toward her fellow church members and community for their love, service, and compassion.

Earlene is a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of family, her enduring faith, and the lasting impact she had on those fortunate enough to have been part of her life.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
