Eddie Pace

CLINTON - Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Eddie Leon Pace, known to many as Big Ed, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 26, 2013. He was born on March 28, 1951 to Leon and Ruth Pace in Price, UT where he grew up and later graduated from Carbon High School in 1969. Eddie went on to marry his second grade sweetheart, Kathern Ann Hawks Pace on November 6, 1971. He was drafted into the military where he served his country as a military police officer in the Army. He spent most of his career working as a loss prevention specialist.

Eddie devoted his life to his children and went on to do the same for his grandchildren. He enjoyed coaching and playing sports with his kids, always putting an emphasis on fundamentals and sportsmanship. He traveled often for work and always had a busy schedule, but never missed a game or dance competition when he was in town. Depending on the season he found time to play baseball, basketball, football or soccer with his kids and anyone else in the neighborhood that wanted to join in. Eddie loved entertaining his grandchildren; whether it was sitting on the floor playing with Lincoln Logs or Tinker Toys, watching movies or playing outside in the water. He enjoyed doing yard work and took pride in the way his yard looked, always keeping it neatly mowed and trimmed.

He will be missed greatly by his entire family. He is survived by his children; Robyn (Clark) Van Buren, Eddie (Monica) Pace, Cody (Aubrey) Pace; eight grandchildren; sister Carrol Hoggatt; sister-in-laws Jaylene (Wendell) Page, Charlotte Kearsley, Carla (Rob) Parks and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and niece Kari Flint.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton City Cemetery, 750 W. 800 N. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at America First Credit Union under Eddie & Kathy Pace Memorial Account.
