E. Dianne Alvis

1945 - 2016

On November 26, 2016, our sweet mom, E. Dianne Spainhower Alvis (Kershaw), peacefully passed in her home while her husband lovingly held her hand.  Mom was a fighter - she lived graciously and courageously to the end.  She is free; free of cancer and her frail, tired body.  She is dancing in heaven with long, flowing hair.  Welcoming her with open arms are her parents and her Savior, Jesus Christ.  We find peace, knowing she is continuing her eternal progression.  She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a true example of enduring faith.  She had a strong testimony of the Savior and a deep and abiding love for Him.

She was born August 13, 1945, the daughter of the late Louis Donald Spainhower and Elva Mae Peck.  She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lou James, and six children; Robyn (Jim), Stacey, Mikelle (John), Karli (Stan), Jerry (Monica) and Joshua (Aleena).  She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her adorning grandchildren; Cortnie, Carrie, Jerry, Daxton, Eleace, Ashlee, Maegan, Alyssa, Neil, Trevin, Liv, Case and Becca (Goose).  Great-grandchildren; Averiegh, Jobe, Aven, Ember and Ivie.  She will be greatly missed by her loving siblings; Don (Karen), Doug (Janice), Richard (Susan), Denise (Robert).

Our mom’s sweet, beautiful and wild spirit will forever live in our hearts. Her loving and generous heart touched many lives.  She instilled in her children wonderful traditions and created many joyful memories.  She was a wonderful cook and believed love was shown in the simple things - our home was full of love and family, delicious smells, and was the place to be for the holidays.  Being silly and playful with her kids and grandkids was one of her greatest joys. She loved to sing and had a wonderful voice.  On sunny days, you could find her digging in the dirt as she had a gift for creating a beautiful garden.

She was loved and adored by her best friend and love, Lou, and we are forever grateful for his commitment, love and tenderness he gave to our mother.

Friends may visit with family, Monday, December 5, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., Bountiful.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Orchard 8th Ward, 55 East 350 North, North Salt Lake with visitation from 9:30 -10:30 am prior to the service.  Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden.

“To take me home what joy shall fill my heart

Then I shall bow in humble adoration

And there proclaim my God how great thou art”
