OGDEN a€" Edison F. Buckles, 79, our father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from the effects of congestive heart failure.

Eddie was born at the County hospital in Salt Lake City, on February 11, 1928 to Bernard Thomas and Rachel Olive McGrath Buckles.

On October 7, 1960, Eddie married Freda Bodily Buckles in Bountiful. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 31, 1962.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in numerous callings.

Above all else, Eddie was a dedicated father and husband. He sacrificed all of his time and efforts selflessly to provide his family with their needs and wants. His own dreams were always on hold to provide for his family.

Eddie finished a career as a pipe fitter at Hill Air Force Base where he made many good friends.

Eddie is survived by his son, Dalan T. (Louise Anderson) Buckles, Clearfield; three daughters, Kathleen T. (Glen) Nickerson, Ogden; DeeAnn (Lyle) Black, Farmington; Jennifer (Shane) Swenson, Ogden; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Josephine (Eb) Day, Geraldine Rosvall and Shirley (Glenn) Foote.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Freda Bodily Buckles; his parents; brother, James Gene Shelton; nephew, Terry Day; brother-in-law, Ray Rosvall; and son-in-law, Lynn Merritt.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Justin Mansfield and Hospice For Utah, for their genuine and personal care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Lewis 1st Ward Chapel, 435 N. Jackson Ave., Ogden, Utah, with Bishop Brent Nielsen officiating.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
