Edith Marie Stephens Boatright peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on January 1, 2025. She was born to Thomas William Stephens and Mary Edith Foster on July 29, 1933, in Layton, Utah.
She married her sweetheart Norman Jay Boatright on December 27, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 12, 1964.
She had several Church callings, MIA Young Women’s advisor for several years, visiting teacher, Sacrament door greeter, Boy Scout leader, doing extractions for Genealogy, she was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and she loved going to the Temple and doing ordinances.
She retired from the Davis School District Lunch program. After her and her husband Jay retired, they spent over 20 winters in Quartzite Arizona and the summers in the Uintah’s.
She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and riding ATVs with family and friends, family get togethers for Sunday night popcorn. She was in a club with friends in which she attended monthly get togethers and her latest passion was her weekly scrapbooking with her sisters.
She is survived by sons, Craig (Susan) Boatright, Kelly (Suzie) Boatright, sister, Joyce Anderson, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband Norman Jay Boatright, son Kent Dee Boatright and sister Barbara DeGroot.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday January 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. prior to the graveside.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
