Edith Randall Garrett passed away 24 July, 2024 in the home and the loving care of her son, Wes and her daughter- in -law Kris in Lebanon, Oregon.
Edith was born June 22, 1937, in Centerville, Utah to the parents of Orrin LeRoy Randall and Huldah Franciska Nielson Randall. She often proudly spoke of being born in the historical “Rich-Woolley Home” in Centerville which was later taken down piece by piece and reassembled in the park near “This is the Place Monument.”
Edie was the youngest of eleven children, 8 boys and 3 girls. Deon is the youngest boy now living in Pocatello Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents and other siblings (and their spouses), Rex, Von, Joy, Orrin, Gem, Mar, Harlo, Rozlee, and Grant (Donelda who is Grants wife is still living and resides in Centerville, Utah).
Edith has three children Deborah, Wes (Kris) and Paul Cook, seven grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren with two on the way. She loved doing things for her family even though it was long distance love.
She met Darryl Garrett and they were married 1 November 1980 and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Portland Oregon Temple, 12 April 2008. Darryl preceded her in death, they were very devoted to each other and are now reunited forever. Daryl had five children: Gary (Valerie), Tess, Jan (Randy), Tom – deceased (Barbara), Stacey (Alan, deceased), with 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Edith loved being grandma to them all.
Edith enjoyed bowling, camping, and gardening in her younger years. She was an exceptionally organized person in all that she did, which was obvious in her professional banking career, doing family search, caring for others, especially her ill mother and husband in their later years and raising her children. As a homemaker she enjoyed sewing, handiwork, crafts, scrapbooking and making cards. In her later years she made hundreds of birthday cards for the sisters in Relief Society and her friends and family.
