CLINTON a" Edmund Briggs Thompson, 80, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011.
Edmund was born May 5, 1931 in Rupert Idaho to Ira Edmund and Velma Olive Briggs Thompson.
He served in the Army from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War.
Edmund lived in Idaho and Utah until his retirement from Hill Air Force Base in 1997, and then moved to Montana, only to return to Ogden on October 1, 2011.
He married Angeline on April 3, 1951 in Elko, Nevada, they later divorced. He then married Nyla on November 23, 1979, in Twin Falls, Idaho, she preceded him in death. Edmund married Cloereen in Ogden, on April 21, 1994 and she preceded him in death this past May.
Edmund was a member of the LDS Church, and was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and Utah Auto Auction. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Craig (Kathy) Thompson, Snohomish, WA; Ira Thompson of Roy; and daughter, Saundra (Terry) Mansfield, Clinton; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his five step-sons, Bob Bingham, Lava Hot Springs, ID; Marvin Bingham, Ogden; Jody Bingham, Syracuse; Allen Bingham, Deer Park, WA; Michael Bingham, Renton, WA; and step-daughter, Fae Painter, Plain City.
Edmund was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, his son Jack, a great-grandson, Jeran Terry Henrie, also 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11 am at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
