Edna Purser Higley

Edna Purser Higley, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on Monday, February 13, 2017 at her home. She was 95.
She was born on November 30, 1921 to John Newell and Sarah May Carver Purser, accompanied by her twin sister, Elda. The family, including brother Wayne and sisters Nora and Lila resided in Hyde Park and Richmond, Utah. They are all now deceased.
George W. Higley was her husband for 61 years before his death in 2003. They were lifelong residents of Hooper, Utah with daughters Janet (Doug, deceased) Hoffman, Joan (Ned) Greenwood, Nancy (Jim) Ryan, Helen (Craig) Lunceford. Their lives were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a dear granddaughter, Paula Jill Greenwood Child preceded Edna in death.
Edna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived through the great depression and sacrificed four long years of her young married life to the Nation as her husband served in the United States Army during World War II. She succeeded in managing her career as a professional baker at Weber Memorial Hospital and Mother extraordinaire throughout her life. She is survived by many nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
