Edna Smith Thatcher McEntire passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

She was born April 9, 1921 to Ashby Snow and Edna Elizabeth Smith Thatcher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her mother passed away the following day. She was raised by her loving grandmother, Elizabeth Davis Smith. Grandmother Smith set Edna’s feet on the course of service to others. Kindness, patience, and a love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be her legacy.

On August 26, 1943, Edna married her sweetheart, Marshall Allen McEntire in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After the birth of their third child, they moved to Clearfield for employment opportunities. Three more children joined their family. Mother and Dad made their home a warm loving place to grow up. Dad passed away November 22, 1992. Gratefully, mother remained with us an additional 25 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall, and grandson, Ryan Wayne McEntire. She leaves behind her family who cherish her memory, Ann Marie McEntire, Clinton; Barbara (Frank) Johnston, Lacey, WA; Allen (Jeannie) McEntire, Clinton; Eileen (Ross) Terry, Murray; Warren (Kandy) McEntire, West Jordan; Wayne (Jane) McEntire, West Point; 26 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Clearfield 3rd Ward Chapel, 350 North Vine Street (150 East). A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
