RIVERDALE, Utah - Edna Ruth Osborne Mikkelsen, 87 returned to her loving Heavenly Father and eternal companion on Thursday, July 29, 2010.

She was born in Ogden, Utah March 24, 1923, to Thomas Spencer Osborne and Engeltji Smit.

Edna and Glen Harold Mikkelsen were married on May 23, 1947 and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 13, 1958.

Edna was raised in Ogden Utah where she worked at the Swift Packing Company, Finer Foods Cafe (where she met her loving husband), Sierra Lingerie, and Defense Depot Ogden, where she retired.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful homemaker. She had extraordinary sewing skills and took great pride in making clothing for her children. She found time in her busy schedule to produce home canned fruits and vegetables.

In later years, she loved producing quilts with her good friends, playing Pinochle, shopping and spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her two brothers, Tom (Barbara) Osborne of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ralph (Edith) Osborne of South Weber, Utah; daughter, Lee Ann (Paul) Dopp of Salem, Utah; son, Ned (Janet) Mikkelsen of Bunkerville Nevada; and Jennifer (Jared) Noorda, of Roy, Utah; (Granddaughter that cared for her for many years); 12 grandchildren including Jennifer and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Earl and Frank, sister Angelina, her daughter Glenna Jean Watkins (1993), and her loving eternal companion Glen Harold Mikkelsen (March 13, 1990).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will meet with friends at the mortuary on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Boulevard.
