Edoardo Bruno Cordara Audibert

November 18, 1921 ~ April 13, 2016

Surrounded by his family our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Edoardo Bruno Cordara Audibert age 94 passed from us on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at 4:31 p.m.

He was the first born to Armando Cordara and Amelia Audibert on November 18, 1921 in La Spezia, Italy. His parents moved (with him at age 5 month) to Peru, to start a new business, a new life. Edoardo was loved by his parents and all who surrounded him. At age 7 he moved back to Italy to further his schooling and it was not but until he was 15 years of age when he was reunited again with his parents, back in Peru.

As he came back from Italy, he finished his high school in the city of Arequipa, and soon after traveled to Chile to start his career as a Dentist, but it was not long after that the Second World War started and he was deported back to Peru due to a political alliance between Chile and Germany. With only a half career done, he ventured to learn Industrial Engineering and Chemistry, and few years later he finished both careers with honors as he started his own family. He married Gloria Luza from Arequipa, Peru, and together they've got 3 beautiful daughters: Rita, Virginia and Mirella.

His entrepreneurial spirit and inventive mind took him to develop not only extremely valued machinery but his own companies, including a soda-pop factory, a laundry soap factory, decorative carpets and custom artistry with fabric and yarn, etc. His name was renown in the engineering and entrepreneurial circles, especially in Arequipa and Lima.

Later in life he learned about the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from his brother, Irnando Cordara, and then from the full time missionaries. Soon after he was baptized in the church, being himself a true pioneer to all his family who after him learned about the Gospel and were baptized. He served in the church in many capacities and to name just a few he was Bishop, Mission Counselor, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, etc. He particularly loved teaching and letting other people know about his testimony and conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ. He also served in the capacity of Chief Engineer in the Lima Peru LDS Temple for over 15 years, receiving many congratulatory letters and recognition from several Apostles; even from President Gordon B. Hinckley.

Edoardo Cordara was first of all a great father, husband and grandfather. He was also well known for his good humor, light spirit, his deep knowledge of science, theology, Gospel Doctrine, mathematics, physics, and sense of doing it right from the first time. He was also known for his love for his family, devotion to Heavenly Father, his testimony of the Savior, etc. etc. He was an author of 2 published books: “10 Preguntas Para el Papa” (“10 Questions to the Pope”) and “El Adversario de Dios” (God's Adversary”) and many small Printed Articles about theology, sciences and humor. He was considered a genius and an inventor not only among his own family but everyone who have got to know him intimately. His motto was: “problems” are only challenges to be overcome, and not meant to last forever.

We love you Nonno! You will be greatly missed!

He is survived by his dear and loved wife Gloria Cordara, his daughters Rita Aguayo, Virginia Craythorne, and Mirella Galbreith with their husbands and entire families. He is preceded in death by his loved son-in-law Oscar Aguayo and his beloved grandson Ryan Chraythorne.

Private family services will be held.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary.
