Edward Paul Charlton
PLAIN CITY a" Edward Paul Charlton, 88, died peacefully at his home in Plain City on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born September 9, 1920 in West Weber, Utah to Thomas E. and Isabell Skeen Charlton. He attended Weber County Schools and served three years with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Paul married Martha Schlichenmayer on July 6, 1946. She died on August 23, 1998. He married Ruth H. Rogers on October 10, 1998.
He worked at the Pillsbury Flour Mills for 28 years. Upon his retirement he moved to Apache Junction, Arizona where he made his home for 30 years. While in Arizona he owned and operated his own business. During the past 10 years he lived in Plain City spending the winter months in St. George, Utah.
Paul loved to travel in his motor home and be with his family and friends.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Plain City 2nd Ward where he was a High Priest.
Through his two marriages, he inherited five daughters and four sons. Those surviving are: Diane (Glen) Campbell, Beverly (Clark) Simmons, Elaine (Bob) Cliften, Sheila (Steve) Jaques, Michael (Chris) Rogers, Dennis (Sharilyn) Rogers, Craig (Barbara) Rogers and Brent (Denise) Rogers; 33 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Faye Sessions, Elaine (Ernie) Brown, Wayne (Barbara) Charlton and Junior Blaine Charlton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha, his daughter Darlene Woit, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, Edna (Harold) Gibson, Erma (Andrew) Penman, Mary (Russell) Thurgood, Lyman Charlton, Eldred (Lucille) Charlton, Eugene (Lorna) Charlton and a brother-in-law, Myron Sessions.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Plain City 2nd Ward Chapel, 2952 North 4200 West.
Family and friends may call at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
