LAYTON – Edward Stanley (Stan) Delbridge, 76, passed away February 26, 2018 at VA Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He was born January 24, 1942 in Rock Springs, WY; the son of Horace and Gladys L. Lester Delbridge. He was raised in Bancroft, Idaho graduating from North Gem High School in 1961 and then attended Ricks College on a football scholarship.
Stan served an LDS Mission to the Southern States from 1962 – 1964 and served in the U.S. Army as a Tank Commander.
Stan married Carol Jean Curtis on April 30, 1971 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, October of 1980.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and all things outdoors. He had a Masters Degree in “late night projects.”
Surviving are his wife Carol, children: Ronald R. Ollis, Jr., Gregory K. (Dolly) Ollis, Thomas R. (Leslie) Ollis, Caron (Ron) Barnes, Raymond Stanley “Butch” Delbridge, Brett Edward (Corie) Delbridge, 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother, Wilford (Darlene) Delbridge, sisters, Diane (Chris) Mabey, Bertha (Keith) Mabey and sister-in-law, Becky Delbridge.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Sterling Delbridge, sister, Janice Wurzel and brother-in-law, Bud Wurzel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Country View Ward, 625 S. 750 E., Layton. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah at 2 p.m.
