Our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend has passed away surrounded by family.
Edward A. Hurtado was born to Manuel and Irma Hurtado in Fort Collins, CO, on April 23, 1940.
Edd attended Ogden High School and went on to get his GED. He was a proud Marine serving from February 1959 to August 1959 and was honorably discharged.
He married Darla (Roberts) Glass in February 1964. They had 2 girls and later divorced .
He married LuJeanne (Cash) Walton in September 1971. They had 2 girls and later divorced.
He married the love of his life, Wynn Hodson, in August 1997 and remained married until Wynn’s death in October 2020.
When Edd was younger, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a founding member of The Sundowners. He was also a member of the Klunker Klub of Ogden. He also enjoyed hunting and camping in Moab. In his later life, he enjoyed reading, golfing, and drinking fine wines.
Edd worked for Ogden News Company. Frito Lay (he was the Frito Bandito.) He also met two of his best friends, Bob Tassone and Skip Brandt, and retired from Staker/Parsons after 25 years in 2006.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wynn; parents, Manuel and Irma; sister, Felis and his youngest brother, Melvin.
Edd is survived by his four daughters, Mercedes Hurtado, Monique Hurtado, Becky (Rich Dec) Asbury, and Rachel Hurtado, and a beloved stepdaughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Norman; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Hurtado and sister, Ginger Gulizzou.
We want to thank the nurses, aids, and administrators of Everest Home Health and Hospice and everyone at Pheasant View Assisted Living for caring for our father.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
