Edward passed away Monday, March 7, 2011at the George E. Wahlen Veteran''s Home in Ogden, Utah while residing with his fellow soldiers. The staff and his loving family members were in attendance to his needs.

Edward was born to Edward Adolph Kozlowski and Helen Marie Stryzewski in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania.

He entered service in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the age of 19. He flew many missions over Germany as part of the Mighty Eight Air Force in his Flying Fortress, call sign Acquit" nose art signature "Easy Does It" as a gunner on several weapons stations, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and other medals for meritorious service. He survived these years to be a member of the "Lucky Bastard" club of Aircrew members that survive 45 perilous missions over Hilter''s Germany at the height of World War II. He continued to serve his Country during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and later with the 28th LSS at Hill Air Force Base until his retirement. After his Military service years had ended he continued to serve his Country as a first line Supervisor on the F4 Phantom Production line at Hill AFB. There were few people with his pride and service in the country we call the good old USA.

During peace time he met Natalie Ann Smith and they were married on July 5, 1954 while stationed in Topeka, Kansas. Natalie preceded him in death on August 29, 2008. From this marriage they had two sons, Michael and David, who also serve their country as Civil Servants at Hill AFB.

Edward leaves behind his sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Connie Kozlowski, and David Kozlowski. Also surviving him are two grandchildren, Kyle Kozlowski, Laura Thomas, a great-grandson, Dallen Nelson; his siblings, Lorraine Son, Helene Chapin, Ray Kozlowski and Francis Sadler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carol Kozlowski and a grandson, Troy Stoddard.

Our family would like to pass on our many thanks to the caring and compassionate nurses of the George Wahlen Veterans Home and Bristol Hospice.

There will be no viewing and a private service at a later date as per Edward''s request. The family asks in lieu of flowers please donate to George Wahlen Veterans Home.
