Edward William Keller, 79 years old, passed away October 22, 2023, at his home in Bountiful, Utah. He was also known by the name of Skip, a nickname his parents gave him after he was born.
Skip was born to Jack and Janice Keller in Glendale, California. He was married to Barbara Kutulas and together they had one son, Craig William Keller. Craig brought Skip so much joy and was always helping his dad.
Skip worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years and made friends there whom he enjoyed associating with long after retirement.
Skip loved drag racing with his dad where they won many trophies in the Intermountain Region. He was also able to enjoy hunting and fishing with his grandfather in his younger years. Skip and Craig went on several hunting trips and had other memorable adventures that included his grandson, Christopher. They family often went to Kamas to stay with childhood friends during the hunting season, attended the Oakley Rodeo, and celebrated other holidays there. It was a lot of fun for our families.
He treasured the outdoors and enjoyed landscaping. Skip was very talented in fixing and creating projects. He enjoyed showing Craig how to take care of cars, motorcycles and how to make repairs. He also liked helping wherever there was a need. Skip was a very kind man.
Skip and Barbara were able to enjoy many years in retirement, being with the family for dinners, and spending time with the grandchildren. They had many wonderful trips with family and friends.
Skip is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Craig, and daughter-in-law Earla; grandchildren:
Shalea (Kevin), Christopher, and Alexa (Rob); and a great-grandson, Parker. Skip was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, grandparents, and his mother-in-law.
Our thanks to Dr. David Cope and his wife, Laurie, who helped us through Skip’s illness; his nurse from Enhabit Hospice, Ann Tueller, and MaryAnn Barnett who helped take care of him. Our family could not have made it without them.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Flourishing Grace Church Youth Group at 390 N. 400 E. Bountiful; the Bountiful Food Pantry, where Skip volunteered for many years, located at 480 E. 150 N. in Bountiful or to the Rescue Mission in Salt Lake City at 463 S. 400 W. SLC. UT.
