In Loving Memory

Edward Darrell Smith, age 80, passed away on December 6, 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT. Edward was born March 4, 1936 to Edward Burns and Elizabeth Westerman Smith.

Edward attended South High School and the University of Utah. He served in the Armed Forces of the US Air Force as an Radio Intercept Operator and was stationed in Kirknewton RAF Base (Scotland). He married his high school sweetheart Joyce L. Colemere, and they had three daughters. Edward founded Action Fire Sprinkler Co. in Centerville, UT. He later married Alice Dodd and completed a couples’ mission in Copenhagen, Denmark for the LDS Church, after which they settled in St. George, UT and he was made the Branch President of the Fourth Branch of the Snow Canyon Stake.

Survivors: Alice Dodd Smith, Joylinn (Smith) Bloomer; Lanette (Smith) and Gregory S. Melville, Angela (Smith) and Dallas Volk; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce E. (Smith) and Dale Longman.

A viewing will be held from 5:30-7:30pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E, Bountiful, UT 84010

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 10th at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84106.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com.
