Edward DeWayne Yarbrough
Edward DeWayne Yarbrough died Sunday, June 21, 2015, in his home in Roy, Utah, after a long battle with cancer.
Wayne was born in Winters, California, and lived most of his life in Yolo County, until moving to Utah eight years ago to be near his grandchildren.
He married Marilyn Kay Chambers on August 8, 1968.
He served in the U.S Army and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam.
Wayne was a truck driver for over 40 years.
He coached little league baseball for his sons’ teams and some of his nephews’ teams. He was an avid Esparto football fan and a diehard Raiders fan.
Wayne Yarbrough is survived his wife, Marilyn, their sons, Jeff Yarbrough and wife Jennifer of Tenn; and Mike Yarbrough and wife Janell; grandchildren, Dylan and Kaylee Yarbrough of Utah; his sister Georgia Shull of Woodland, brother Tom Yarbrough and wife Crystal of Colo., and stepbrother Donald Gilbert of Woodland; stepsister Roberta Rooker of Woodland; brother-in-laws Ralph Criner of Esparto, and Stephen Chambers and wife Mary of Illinois; nieces and nephews Audie Criner, Randy Criner, Pam Criner, Bob Criner; Joy Fortuna, Jeanne Lopez, Jacquie Hanna, Scott Decaillet, Debbie Williams; Shayla, Zachariah, Xzavier, and Jonathan Yarbrough; and Edward Gilbert.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Frankie Louise and Robert Edward Yarbrough, sisters Frances Louise Criner, and Barbara Ann Sweazy, and her three children, Joshua, Jacob, and Zechariah Sweazy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Winters Cemetery, California. A celebration of life for Wayne will be held immediately afterward at the Esparto Community Center.
