Edwin “Sonny” J. Lemerich, Jr.
RIVERDALE – Edwin “Sonny” John Lemerich, Jr., 67, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at his home.
He was born September 17, 1940 in South Amboy, New Jersey, a son of Edwin J. Sr. and Alice Straczynski Lemerich.
He married Dauneen Kay Fields on August 13, 1997.
Sonny was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He retired from the U.S. Army. He was an excellent diesel mechanic and could fix almost anything. He also worked for the I.R.S.
Sonny was a member of S.A.S.S. and the Northern Utah Chapter of Harley Davidson. He was also a volunteer for the rescue of greyhounds.
Surviving are his wife, Dauneen, of Ogden; daughter, Tara Lemerich (Ed) Sinker, of NJ; four step-daughters, one step-son and eight grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sister, Karen Lemerich Baxter, of VA; cousin, Max Lemerich, of ME; and his Aunt Mary Turallo, of NJ.
Preceding Sonny in death were his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Henefer, Utah Cemetery.
