Effie Goupios, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022. She was born on May 21, 1935 in Athens, Greece to Demetrios Fillipou and Athlanasia Skoure. She graduated from high school in Athens and went to work for the Greek Government owned ammunition company in the logistics and personnel department.

She married George C. Goupios on November 2, 1958 in Athens. Effie and George moved their family to the United States so their sons could study dentistry. George passed away on October 26, 2015. Effie was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Effie is survived by her sons, Robert (Rochelle) and Peter; and grandson, George. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 674 42nd St.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
