Efren Garcia, age 91, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2023 at his home in Clearfield, Utah surrounded by his family members. He was born June 18, 1932 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Reymundo and Eleanor Martinez Garcia.
He married Sheila Jane Garcia in 1979.
Efren completed 37 years of civilian service at Hill Air Force Base as a aircraft painter and spent the last years of his career as a Quality Control Inspector.
He was always busy doing projects at home. He was a very talented handy man. Most of his interests revolved around working on his cars. He loved to modify them to his personal liking. Efren also took great care of his home, yard, and flowers. He was a loyal member of the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton, Utah.
Efren was loved by many. He loved visiting with his family and friends, hosting many summer BBQ’s over the years. He also enjoyed visiting family and friends in Santa Fe, New Mexico whenever he could. He was a very caring and loving man.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sheila, children; Connie, Larry, Arthur, Steven and his stepson Richard.
Efren is survived by his siblings; Josie, Leta, Manuel, his sons; Alfred, Gene (Punky), Chris, Shaye, Jaques, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Sunday December 10, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. A vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery, 500 S. State Street, Clearfield, Utah.
